Job description

About the role:

As an Electrical Engineer II, you will use intermediate knowledge obtained from experience providing engineering design and analysis for nuclear products/projects, including electrical system design, instrumentation and controls designs, and system wiring.

You will report to the Manager of Large Project Electrical Systems and Equipment for Electrical Engineering. This position is hybrid in nature, typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at Rock Hill, SC, located 20 minutes north of Charlotte, NC. No relocation will be provided. We can entertain candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities:
  1. Engineering design and analysis for nuclear products and projects including electrical system design, instrumentation and controls designs, and system wiring
  2. Evaluate standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria to develop engineering design documents including technical evaluations, obsolete parts equivalencies, calculations, and specifications
  3. Use Software Packages like ETAP, Mathcad, Maximo, or equivalent, and learn new packages quickly
  4. Interface with internal groups on similar engineering to obtain information to complete assignments
  5. Plan and schedule work to meet requirements
  6. Some travel required
Qualifications:
  1. 3+ years of experience
  2. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  3. Engineering design and analysis including electrical system design like development of load flow studies, short circuit analysis, development of protective relay settings, instrumentation and controls designs, and system wiring
  4. Power Plant systems and equipment
  5. Power or nuclear projects
  6. ETAP, Maximo, or equivalent
  7. Procurement specifications and reviewing proposals
  8. Develop engineering design documents like technical evaluations, obsolete parts equivalencies, calculations, and specifications to support operating plants
