Job summary

FALCATA is seeking an Electrical Engineer based in Bloomington, IN to support ongoing NSWC Crane efforts. You will apply hardware engineering skills to dissect complex naval systems, document component-level details, and develop repeatable sustainment processes.

Responsibilities include BOM creation, hardware documentation, test procedure development, and collaboration with government stakeholders. A Secret DoD clearance is required with a BS in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering.
• 0–2 years of related internship/co-op experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify, remove, and categorize internal hardware components and subassemblies.
• Analyze system architecture, interconnects, signal paths, and functional hardware blocks.
• Develop comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) and parts lists for each system.
• Document hardware configurations, component specifications, cabling, connectors, and assemblies.
• Produce engineering documentation that aligns with NSWC Crane standards and Navy technical requirements.
• Design and write detailed hardware test procedures for system evaluation, functional testing, and component verification.
• Collaborate with test engineers and technicians to validate procedures.
• Support creation of acceptance test plans, diagnostic processes, and troubleshooting workflows.
• Provide hardware-focused engineering recommendations for repair, modification, or lifecycle support.
• Support failure analysis activities and assist in root-cause investigations.
• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and program discussions with government stakeholders.
