Job summary

PRIME AE Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Akron/Columbus offices. You will support electrical system design and documentation across healthcare, education, corporate, and other markets.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and field personnel to ensure designs meet codes and project goals. You will develop layouts, perform calculations, and progress tasks under senior engineers while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7+ years of electrical system design experience.
• PE license preferred.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Familiarity with AIA MasterSpec or SpecsIntact preferred.
• Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, and ACC; power-system analysis tools like EasyPower or SKM.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design of electrical systems for a variety of building types and market sectors.
• Develop electrical system layouts and construction documentation from concept through final design phases.
• Coordinate with field staff, architects, contractors, and engineers to ensure project compliance.
• Perform electrical engineering calculations and technical analyses to support system design.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior staff.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural professionals.
