Job summary

RTM Engineering Consultants is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our team across multiple locations. The role focuses on creating construction drawings, performing load calculations, and supporting the project through completion.

Ideal candidates have a 4-year engineering degree and 3+ years of relevant experience, with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and lighting calculations proficiency.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in engineering required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
• Understanding of construction process and drawings.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering standards and other trades.
• Knowledge of engineering drafting standards.
• Knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Knowledge and use of company/design standards.
• Basic knowledge of software tools such as SKM and lighting calculations.
• Knowledge of AutoCad.
• Knowledge of Revit.

Responsibilities

• Produces construction electrical documents for permitting based on project specifics.
• Accurately and timely produces electrical design elements aligned with project specifications.
• Produces design elements in accordance with project hours, scope and parameters.
• Produces load calculations within project parameters.
• Provides research design options consistent with project requirements.
• Selects appropriate equipment for project type.
• Actively participates in post design activities through construction completion.
• Assists in preparing other project documents with enthusiasm and professionalism.
• Follows established work rules, policies and procedures.
• Engages with team to improve processes and reduce costs.
