Job summary

OTTO Engineering, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer II to design advanced circuitry for communications and power-management products. You will tackle analog, audio, digital, and battery-powered design challenges from concept to production, coordinating with cross-functional teams and fieldly support.

You will contribute to design validation, documentation, and continuous improvement while maintaining independence with moderate supervision.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of product-development experience.
• Digital and microprocessor design experience.
• Portable/battery-powered product experience (preferred).
• Schematic entry proficiency; Altium experience a plus.
• Embedded coding familiarity (bonus).
• Compliance exposure — EMC, ESD, UL/ATEX/FM Intrinsically Safe.
• Strong work discipline — self-motivated, proactive, communicates clearly.
• Detail-driven problem solving with a results-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills — clear written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Design and prototype analog and digital circuitry and validate performance.
• Select and specify components balancing performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Create production documentation including schematics, BOMs, and layouts.
• Test and verify product performance to meet requirements.
• Support technical sales with engineering insight.
• Define and validate production tests with Production.
• Sustain and improve existing products through troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and drawings.
• Take on evolving challenges and assist with related duties.
