Job summary

Judge Group, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer II for a fast-paced mining production environment in Bayard, NM.

You will contribute to design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems critical to operations. You will work with senior engineers to develop projects, apply new technologies, ensure safety, and maintain compliance with regulations while controlling costs and improving efficiency across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of engineering experience
• Master’s degree with 2+ years of engineering experience
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and safety practices
• Experience with electronics, PLCs, and control systems
• Ability to research and analyze difficult information and communicate clearly

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and guidance for electrical engineering projects
• Assist Senior Engineer in developing projects using new technology to upgrade site safety, efficiencies, cost controls, quality controls and environmental protection
• Review, investigate and develop recommendations for assigned projects
• Manage small to medium site construction, expansion or modification projects; assist with large/complex planning
• Administer contracts with vendors for services and equipment
• Develop knowledge of applicable local, state and federal regulations
• Assist in site strategic planning and budgeting for engineering areas
• Develop and evaluate AFEs for capital funding requests
• May represent the site on steering committees or teams

Job description

Location: Bayard, NM Salary: $93,000.00 USD Annually – $127,500.00 USD Annually Description: Our client is currently seeking a Electrical Engineer II to work in a fast paced mining production environment.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Provide technical advice and guidance for assigned electrical engineering projects.
• Assist Senior Engineer in developing Electrical Engineering projects utilizing new technology to constantly upgrade and improve site safety, efficiencies, cost controls, quality controls and protection of the environment.
• Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects
• Manage small to medium site construction, expansion or modification projects, and assists the Senior Engineer on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion or modifications
• Administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment
• Develop working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations appropriate to area of assignment
• Assist the Senior Engineer in contributing to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas
• Develop and evaluate AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requests
• May represent the site on company sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering, OR
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and two (2) years of related experience in Engineering
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of Electrical Engineering with an understanding of Mechanical and Process Engineering techniques
• Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Familiarity and some experience in Electronics, PLCs, and Control Systems
• Skill in managing small to medium Engineering projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification.
• Knowledge and experience of power systems engineering including equipment design and specification, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical/industrial power systems.
• Knowledge and experience of power systems studies including load flow, short circuit, coordination, and Arc flash study and Mitigation.
• Knowledge and experience in designing process automation system including experience in producing instrumentation and control narrative, PLC programming (preferred Allen Bradley PLCs), P&ID drawings.
• Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and/or Visio and Excel.
• Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement
