Job summary

Framatome North America in Richland, WA seeks an engineer to support design, development, and maintenance of nuclear fuel fabrication plant equipment and related systems. You will work with CAD tools and contribute to startups and commissioning while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Under mentorship, you’ll apply engineering techniques, participate in field tasks, and help deliver safe, reliable energy solutions for a 24/7 facility, collaborating with engineering staff and craft

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; other engineering degrees may be accepted.
  • Basic knowledge of related engineering standards and criteria.
  • Exposure to CAD modeling and computer programming skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard engineering assignments in design, development, analysis, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks, resolution of field problems and quality events.
  • Develop awareness of government regulations, organization, industry and customer engineering standards with support of senior staff.
  • Under a mentor’s guidance, evaluate, select and apply standard techniques and criteria with minor adaptations.

What You’ll Do Day-To-Day
  • Perform standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks, resolution of field problems, and resolution of quality events.
  • Develop awareness of government regulations, organization, industry and customer engineering standards with support of senior staff.
  • Under a mentor’s guidance, evaluate, select and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.

Preferred Skills

  • Design and maintenance of nuclear fuel fabrication plant manufacturing equipment
  • Design/program industrial PLCs - specifically Allen-Bradley, but doesn’t have to be exclusive.
  • Oversee field work including new installations, integration into existing systems, and troubleshooting as required.
  • Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards
  • Consults with engineering staff and technicians/craft to ensure compliance with design specifications and plant or industry standards.
  • Apply advanced techniques in CAD and incorporate standard design applications.
  • Start up, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of process and production equipment and associated facilities and support systems.
  • Support of 24/7 fuel manufacturing facility in engineering projects and maintenance.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
    • Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
  • Basic knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.

Total Rewards Package

  • Salary: $86,000 - $91,000and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
