Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Morenci, an open-pit copper mining complex in Arizona. The role provides technical advisory on engineering projects at the site and involvement in reviews, investigations, and recommendations.

You will participate in small to medium site construction and contract administration, ensuring compliance with regulations while advancing safety, efficiency, and reliability of power systems. A Bachelor's degree is required; PE is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to research and analyze information with difficulty and draw conclusions.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Commitment to following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice for designated Engineering projects at the site.
• Review, investigate and develop recommendations for assigned Engineering projects.
• Participate on small to medium site construction, expansion or modification projects.
• Administer contracts with vendors for services and equipment.
• Develop knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relevant to the role.
• Perform other duties as required.
