Job summary

VoltAir Consulting Engineers in Orlando, FL seeks an Electrical Engineer I to design electrical systems for commercial facilities, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring code compliance. The role requires Revit MEP proficiency, a BSEE, and 3+ years of relevant experience.

You will work on layouts for lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems, contribute to BIM drawings, and support project administration through design and construction phases while maintaining strong

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States and based in Orlando, Florida.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical engineering design of commercial buildings (aviation, higher ed, healthcare, hospitality, government).
• At least 1 year coordinating with multi-discipline engineering teams and experience with design-build, fast-track and other delivery methods.
• Knowledge of local, state, and national codes; familiarity with laws and liabilities affecting engineering.
• Revit MEP proficiency is required; familiarity with other engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Determine project scope and create electrical system designs (lighting, power distribution, emergency generation, fire alarm, security).
• Determine cost-effective layouts, quantities, sizes, and verify code compliance.
• Prepare and layout BIM drawings; coordinate with other disciplines through all project phases (schematic to construction).
• Perform construction administration tasks (site observations, shop drawings, punch lists).
• Define scope and reflect in contracts; manage scope variances to keep projects on track.
• Maintain relationships with clients, partners, architects, owners and code officials; communicate action items.
