Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc in South Carolina is seeking an Engineer in Training to support electrical/instrumentation design under supervision. You will produce installation details, layouts, and ensure NEC compliance while collaborating with a cross-functional team.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, with EIT strongly preferred, and familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation. This role offers a structured development path in a firm that values teamwork and quality.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of NEC (National Electrical Code).
• Familiarity with company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
• Ability to perform lighting level calculations.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for lighting and power.
• Ability to perform voltage drop calculations.
• Ability to route conduit and cable tray.
• Working knowledge of CAD software, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Developing virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine design of less complex electrical engineering assignments under direct supervision.
• Produce installation details, motor control center lines, wiring diagrams, and various electrical layouts.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
• Create preliminary designs and material take-offs for project estimates.
• Review vendor drawings and discipline drawings for electrical input.
• Coordinate with design leaders to ensure timely project completion.
