Job summary

Amrize is seeking an Electrical Engineer I at the Midlothian Cement Plant, TX to lead electrical maintenance and control-system activities. You will supervise technicians, manage work orders, and ensure reliability while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities include documenting electrical schematics, analyzing data, and supporting PLC and process-control projects. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required, with SAP/AutoCAD experience preferred.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Electrical Engineer is responsible of all electrical maintenance activities at the plant. Ensure electricalproject work is completed is a safe, efficient and timely manner and in compliance with environmentalrequirements and to work in a cooperative manner to plan, schedule and execute all control system activitiesin the plant in order to maximize equipment utilization and reliability.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Responsible for supervising the electrical and instrumentation technicians in the execution of daily workorders and projects assigned by the maintenance coordinator. The engineer is responsible for assigningthe work to their crew, insuring the work is performed both timely and correctly and the work history is recorded in SAP.
• Electrical preventive and predictive maintenance programs. This includes conducting systematicinspections on all plant electrical equipment, collection of quantitative data, its’ organization and analysisusing a variety of traditional as well as technically advanced diagnostic tools. The electrical engineer shallassess the condition of the process and machinery accurately, assess risk and identify the appropriatecorrective actions based on technical analysis and risk management.
• Responsible for the accurate documentation of electrical schematics and stores spare parts inventory.
• Ensure all system programming meets with proper environmental compliance.
• Maintain system documentation including but not limited to master equipment files, regulatory compliancefiles, equipment specifications, and repair history
• Evaluate computer control equipment and their components to assure they meet the plant requirements.
• Define, write and implement changes to existing process control programs.
• Provide control system training and guidance for plant personnel.
• Troubleshoot control system hardware and software problems.
• Participates in defining, developing and executing equipment and process modifications to improvereliability, reduce costs and/or improve safety. Provide electrical knowledge and support for plantmaintenance and PLC control projects.
• Will be on-call on a rotational basis.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Electrical Engineering
Required Technical Skills: SAP, AutoCAD, Project and Microsoft Office.

Additional Requirements:

• Working knowledge of PLC programming and process control systems is preferred (CTI, PLC-5 and SLC500).
• Experience in instrumentation, motors, starters and VFD’s, communication.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
