Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Hydro Plants to advance design and deliver complex engineering analyses for hydro and related power projects. You will guide technical directions, ensure compliance with NFPA 70 and CA Electrical Code, and coordinate multi‑discipline teams in a contract‑to‑hire role.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in plant design, hands‑on use of SKM/ETAP, and a PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in hydro or fossil power generation plant design.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 and California Electrical Code.
• Experience with power system analysis software; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on projects and disciplines.
• Prepare complex engineering analyses, calculations, and deliverables.
• Lead production teams or coordinate multi‑discipline activities.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and quality requirements for assigned projects.
• Review junior engineers' work and mentor staff.
