Job summary

Planet Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support hydro plant projects in Rancho Cordova, CA. The role focuses on developing and modifying technical deliverables for hydroelectric plants with minimal supervision.

At least 5 years of hydro or fossil power plant design experience and familiarity with NFPA 70 and the California Electrical Code are required. PE license is preferred, with experience in SKM/ETAP and Bluebeam considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge and provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and policies.
• Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
• Independently apply technical knowledge and comply with quality programs and standards for assigned tasks.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects.
• Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
• Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
• Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Independently apply advanced engineering techniques, analysis, and problem-solving methods.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to lower-level team members to support project execution and team development.
• Review lower-level engineering work and assignments.
• Lead production teams, coordinate multiple-discipline activities, and/or serve as the responsible engineer for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects.
• Assist with identifying key client interests, requirements, and project drivers.
• Design complete projects of moderate complexity or support multiple projects involving complex technical challenges.

Client Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Hydro Plants
Duration: 1 year Contract to hire
Locations: Rancho Cordova, CA Onsite
Pay Rate: $65/hr. - $70/hr.

Position Summary

• Function in an engineering capacity.
• Develop and modify technical deliverables associated with modifications and upgrades to existing hydroelectric generating plants.
• With minimal supervision, apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses. Continue building technical knowledge to develop concepts and approaches to increasingly complex engineering problems.
