Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Towson, MD to design and develop complex building electrical systems across commercial, government, and academic projects. You will handle power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and special systems, with ownership from design to construction completion.

The role requires at least 3 years of relevant experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and strong coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 3+ years building design experience.
• Design and develop electrical systems for buildings including power, lighting, fire alarm and special systems.
• Prepare construction documents with AutoCAD and Revit; coordinate with teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate with stakeholders clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex electrical systems for diverse building projects (commercial, government, academic, industrial).
• Perform load studies, voltage drop analyses, equipment sizing, and illumination calculations.
• Design power distribution, internal/external lighting, fire alarm, and special systems per codes.
• Oversee projects from concept through construction, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Conduct site visits to gather field data for accurate design and coordination.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Attend design reviews and coordination meetings with internal and external teams.
