Job summary

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is seeking an Electrical Engineer to sustain the engineering support for control systems and electronics used in Eaton’s medium voltage switchgear products. You will develop designs, perform analyses, and collaborate across teams to implement cost-saving improvements and product enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
• No relocation offered; must reside within 50 miles of South Milwaukee, WI.
• No immigration sponsorship or support for CPT/OPT/STEM OPT etc.
• 1+ year of design experience with PCBA design and electrical circuits (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain product designs, BOMs, drawings, and specifications for control systems and protective relays.
• Support new product introductions and engineering changes for existing products.
• Resolve production, manufacturing, and testing issues with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with suppliers and Supplier Quality Engineers to evaluate capabilities and approve components.
• Investigate product quality and reliability issues; document findings and support customer communications.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Design for Six Sigma, DFM, and DFA methodologies.
• Perform engineering analyses and simulations using CAD, FEA, and other tools.
• Coordinate product verification, validation, and reliability testing with internal and external labs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve products, processes, and performance.
