Job summary

RTX has an opening for an Electrical Engineer – Facilities (Design, Estimating, Scheduling) based in Andover, MA, onsite. This hands‑on individual contributor role supports electrical design, distribution, and project management for renovations and manufacturing installations.

The position requires 8+ years in facilities electrical engineering, strong knowledge of high/low voltage systems, coordination studies, and proficiency with AutoCAD/REVIT.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in facilities electrical engineer design with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years’ experience in building electrical engineering including high/medium/low voltage, power sizing, grounding, coordination studies, lighting, and controls.
  • 5+ years’ experience with construction project management including scoping meetings, budgeting, scheduling, contracting, commissioning and close-out.
  • Experience with SKM short circuit & arc fault analysis and feeder/transformer sizing.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project Scheduler.

Responsibilities

  • Support facilities electrical design, electrical distribution, and construction project management.
  • Estimate projects, size loads, perform coordination studies, arc flash studies, develop construction drawings, prepare bid documents and oversee construction for office renovations, labs and manufacturing installations.
  • Support projects from design through bid, construction management and close-out.
  • Design building electrical systems, prepare diagrams, sketches and construction drawings, develop cost estimates and bid documents.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources including IT, safety, security, trades, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

Role

RTX has an opening for an Electrical Engineer – Facilities (Design, Estimating, Scheduling) (Manager, Facilities) hands‑on individual contributor role.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting facilities electrical design, electrical distribution, and construction project management.
  • Project estimating, load sizing, coordination studies, arch flash studies, development of construction drawings, preparation of bid documents and construction administration for office renovations, laboratory fit‑ups and manufacturing equipment installations.
  • Support project from design, through the bid cycle, construction project management followed by project closeout.
What You Will Do
  • Project estimating, project scheduling, design of building electrical systems.
  • Preparation of diagrams, sketches, construction drawings, cost estimates, bid documents and construction administration.
  • Meeting with internal customers, developing continuous improvement projects, coordination studies and project management.
  • Interface and coordinate projects with internal and external resources such as information technology, safety, security, internal construction trade workers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • The position will be based out of Andover Massachusetts, as well as supporting RTX sites in Tewksbury, Woburn, and Pelham NH if needed.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in facilities electrical engineer design and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years’ experience in building electrical engineering to include areas such as the following:
    • High, Medium and Low Voltage
    • Primary and Secondary Power
    • Multi‑Frequency Power
    • Grounding Solutions
    • Load Sizing
    • Control Systems and interlock systems
    • Coordination Studies
    • Lighting and Controls
    • Lightning Protection
  • 5+ years’ experience with construction project management including customer scoping meetings, budget monitoring, establishing and updating schedules, contractor coordination, commissioning, and close‑out.
  • Experience and working knowledge of SKM short circuit & arc fault analysis and feeder & transformer sizing.
  • Proficiency with AutoCad, REVIT, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project Scheduler.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience to interface and present to leadership, internal customers, information technology, security, construction trade workers and subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with building electrical systems and general understanding of building construction and civil works to include Coordinating Electrical designs with other building design disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, IT, and security.
  • Experience in Facilities Engineering, Design and Construction Project Management.
  • Experience with manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and control systems such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric.
Work Location

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
