Job summary

MTS Systems Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Hardware Development team. You will own hardware designs and support the full lifecycle, including schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, testing, and production support.

You will also contribute to firmware and FPGA work and generate manufacturing documentation. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 2+ years in embedded hardware design with ECAD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 2+ years of embedded hardware design, PCB layout, and board bring-up.
• Experience with ECAD tools like Altium Designer and OrCAD/Allegro.

Responsibilities

• Own and support hardware product designs through the full development lifecycle.
• Ideation and schematic capture.
• PCB layout and prototyping.
• Testing and validation.
• Production support and obsolescence management.
• Develop or support firmware and FPGA designs.
• Generate documentation (BOMs, drawings) for manufacturing.
• Create internal design documents for peers and cross-functional teams.
