This is a direct position with our client partner.
Designs and analyzes complex electro-mechanical components and systems for pumps and motors using engineering expertise. Conducts studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs others in the development of design information for use in reports, specifications, and drawings. Serves as leader for technical teams.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze electro-magnetic (EM) fields of EMS products (pumps, motors, generators, exciters) using the latest 2D and 3D electromagnetic finite element analysis (EMFEA) codes, techniques, and principles to evaluate designs, solve complicated technical issues, and predict product performance.
- Create and exercise electrical system models that capture component interaction, including VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), transformers, excitation systems, and control systems.
- Plan and coordinate the execution of complex engineering solutions including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical presentations. Analyze assigned tasks to provide estimates of manpower and material required to complete projects. Prepare schedules for accomplishing tasks within estimates.
- Provide guidance and expertise in electrical engineering to design complex rotating equipment and systems and to investigate, evaluate, and develop new applications for existing equipment and systems.
- Design and conduct experiments, collect data, and interpret results. Conduct analyses and write analysis and test reports using engineering expertise. Capable of driving for solutions in the face of ambiguity. Determine theoretical principles involved and apply advanced analytical and investigative methods and techniques.
- Lead technical teams in design and analytical activities for product design and development and production. Mentor less experienced engineers and be involved in the development of their skills. Master useful understanding and apply engineering software tools and systems.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required, Masters preferred. PhD a plus.
- 15+ years’ experience in Electrical Engineering with a transient simulation skill set.
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following: 2D/3D Electro Magnetic Finite Element Analysis, System Modeling (Mathcad, Matlab, Flux2D), Acoustics, Thermal Analysis.
- Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews.
- Ability to perform analysis and studies with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Small design team leadership and capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities.
- Must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Preferred experience with the ability to perform analysis and studies with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment and Electrical design team leadership.
