Job summary

RTX is seeking a digital hardware engineer for Collins Aerospace Vision and Sensing Solutions in Wilsonville, OR. You will design high-reliability electronic circuits for avionics, define hardware requirements, and perform detailed design activities from schematic to layout with oversight for circuit card integration.

This onsite role requires a STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, with preferences for experience in Xpedition design and multi-gigabit links. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced Degree in a related field accepted.
  • U.S. citizenship/eligibility is required to access program information.

Responsibilities

  • Design high-reliability electronic circuits for avionics.
  • Define and capture hardware requirements using enterprise tools.
  • Perform preliminary design activities including architecture development and trade studies.
  • Conduct detailed design activities: circuit analysis and schematic creation.
  • Provide technical oversight for circuit card layout and integration.
  • Perform functional testing and integration of circuit card prototypes.
  • Support electrical qualification testing and manufacturing during early builds.
  • Guide less-experienced designers and coordinate review activities.

Collins Aerospace Vision and Sensing Solutions Electrical Engineering is responsible for all electrical engineering activities related to the design, analysis, testing, and certification of aerospace Head-Up Displays, Helmet-Mounted Displays, and Avionics Vision Systems for both commercial and military applications.

This position is focused on digital hardware, with an emphasis on the design, implementation, and testing of complex digital circuit cards featuring high-speed data links.

What You Will Do
  • Design high-reliability electronic circuits for commercial and military avionics
  • Define and capture requirements for new hardware designs using enterprise tools
  • Perform preliminary design activities, including hardware architecture development and design trade studies
  • Conduct detailed design activities such as circuit analysis and schematic creation
  • Provide technical oversight and coordination for circuit card layout
  • Perform functional testing and integration of circuit card prototypes
  • Design and build integration support equipment
  • Support electrical qualification testing
  • Support manufacturing during early unit builds
  • Provide oversight and guidance to less-experienced electrical designers
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

  • Experience with Siemens EDA Xpedition Design and Layout
  • Digital board design experience with multi-gigabit serial links
