Job summary

Sigma Design in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a 6-month contract to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and integrate complex electrical hardware for defense technologies in demanding environments. Responsibilities include full-cycle hardware development, schematic capture, PCB layout with Altium, power electronics, and cross-functional reviews.

Requirements include a BSEE and at least 5 years of experience; ITAR and security clearance eligibility are

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in electrical hardware design, testing, and integration.
Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent tool.
Knowledge of CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet and MCU architectures.
EMC/EMI considerations for harsh environments.

Responsibilities

Own full-cycle electrical hardware development from architecture to production.
Schematic capture, component selection, and high-density PCB design.
Design power distribution & power supply circuits; motor controller & actuator circuits.
Perform simulations, thermal analysis, DFMEA, and derating.
Lead design reviews with cross-functional teams.
