Applied Engineering, Inc. in Faribault, MN is seeking an Electrical Engineer focused on cost and design improvements. You will drive cost savings across electrical systems, perform design, modeling, and analysis for new and existing products, and support RDE initiatives.

This role values ownership, collaboration with suppliers, and contributes to projects benefiting communities in southern Minnesota. A BS EE and 2+ years of experience are required; relocation support is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an electrical engineer.
• Experience with electrical design, modeling, and documentation.
• Familiarity with sustaining engineering, cost-reduction initiatives, and ECR processes.
• Ability to identify and execute design improvements that support cost, quality, and performance goals.

Responsibilities

• Drive cost savings, margin improvement, and design enhancements across electrical systems
• Perform electrical design, modeling, and analysis for new and existing products
• Support RDE initiatives, including concept development and early‑stage design work
• Contribute to sustaining engineering activities, including cost‑reduction projects and engineering change requests (ECRs)
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, reduce variation, and streamline assembly
• Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
• Contribute to projects that impact communities in Northfield, Owatonna, Dundas, Medford, Lakeville, Farmington, Waseca, and Lonsdale, and the greater southern Twin Cities metro
