Job summary

InPwr, Inc. in Denver, Colorado, seeks an Electrical Engineer III to lead electrical design for mid- to large-scale projects and oversee QA/QC.

You will serve as a technical resource for junior engineers, collaborate with project managers on design strategy, and engage with clients and consultants to deliver compliant electrical packages. Primary responsibilities include coordinating the electrical design team, ensuring code compliance, and delivering for permit and construction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or above degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • PE license preferred.
  • 5+ years experiences in electrical power distribution and lighting system design for Industrial, commercial, and residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge in electrical power distribution and lighting system design, NEC code and IEEE standards.
  • Highly motivated team player with strong work ethic.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Abilities to work independently, collaborate with electrical design/estimation team, other trades and follow the directive from the team lead.
  • Familiar with SKM or other similar power system study software, AutoCAD, Revit and lighting design software Agi32 is a plus.
  • Engineers with experience in Mechanical, Plumbing, Civil, and Architectural trades are welcomed to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the design to meet NEC and all applicable national and local codes.
  • Perform wiring/cable sizing, equipment sizing and all required calculations to support design.
  • Coordinate and lead the project electrical design team.
  • Interact with clients, vendors, contractors, architects, utility, other trades and fellow electrical engineers, designers to design "for permit" and "for construction" electrical package (drawings and technical documents).
  • Manage the design information. Coordinate with project manager to obtain required information and document information received.
  • Review the designs prepared by CAD designer complying with the code, the contract scope of work, project specification, company drafting standards, practices, policies and stop gate procedures etc.
  • Comply project budgets along with schedules to coordinate multidiscipline groups (Such as: HVAC, plumbing design, fire protection, architect, civil, structure etc.)
  • Work with designers and field installation experts to develop installation details to meet project needs.
  • Review project submittals and technical documents.

SUMMARY

The Electrical Engineer III leads electrical design for mid- to large-scale projects, oversees QA/QC processes, and serves as a technical resource for junior engineers. This role includes client-facing responsibilities and collaboration with project managers on design strategy.

Qualifications:

Essential Job Functions:

Working/ Environment/ Physical Demands to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
