Job summary

Dennis Group is seeking a Building Electrical Systems Engineer for Springfield, MA. The role focuses on designing electrical systems for building power, lighting, fire alarms, and low-voltage networks for food and beverage facilities.

You will develop calculations, plans, and specifications while coordinating with other trades. Responsibilities include design, documentation, and bid support, with travel up to 25% to project sites and offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in electrical systems for building power.
• Experience designing lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems for buildings.
• Experience creating electrical bid documents and procuring materials.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for building power distributions (208V, 480V, MV).
• Perform calculations: short circuit, arc flash, voltage drops, load, conductor sizing.
• Create power plans, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules.
• Coordinate fixture placement with trades and maintain project documentation.
• Assist in electrical bid process and field startup activities.
