Job description

Responsibilities
  • Design, review, and support custom electronic boards based on project requirements.
  • Perform schematic review, board bring-up, and board-level electrical debugging.
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues on PCB boards, including power, signal, component, and connectivity-related problems.
  • Perform soldering, desoldering, and rework activities on PCBs.
  • Remove and replace components such as resistors, capacitors, ICs, connectors, and other discrete components.
  • Support board modifications such as adding/removing resistors, capacitors, jumpers, wires, or other components as required.
  • Provide hands‑on lab support for hardware validation, prototype testing, and failure analysis.
  • Use lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, high‑resolution/high‑bandwidth oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, function generators, logic analyzers, and other electrical test equipment.
  • Capture, analyze, and interpret electrical signals, waveforms, noise, timing, voltage levels, and power behavior.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams including hardware, firmware, validation, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Document debug findings, test results, rework details, and issue resolution steps.
  • Support prototype builds, board repairs, engineering changes, and lab setup activities.
  • Maintain lab equipment, test setups, cables, fixtures, and hardware samples in an organized manner.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands‑on experience with PCB board design, board bring‑up, and hardware debugging.
  • Strong understanding of basic electronics, analog/digital circuits, power supplies, and signal integrity fundamentals.
  • Experience reading and understanding schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets, and board design documents.
  • Good soldering and rework skills, including experience with SMD components.
  • Ability to remove, replace, and modify components such as resistors, capacitors, ICs, connectors, and jumpers.
  • Experience using lab equipment such as:
  • High‑resolution/high‑bandwidth oscilloscopes
  • Digital multimeters
  • DC power supplies
  • Logic analyzers
  • Soldering and rework stations
  • Ability to debug electrical issues independently and provide clear technical explanations.
  • Good documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced lab environment and support multiple hardware activities.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with high‑speed digital interfaces and signal measurement.
  • Experience with board‑level failure analysis and root‑cause debugging.
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, Cadence, KiCad, or similar.
  • Experience supporting prototype hardware bring‑up and validation.
  • Knowledge of test fixtures, cable assemblies, probing methods, and lab safety practices.
  • Experience working with engineering change orders, board modifications, and hardware validation reports.
