Job summary

DataAnnotation is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to evaluate how frontier AI models handle real electrical and electronics engineering work, drawing on years of hardware design, debugging, and shipping experience.

You will craft challenging problems, run them through AI models, and judge results against a professional standard, communicating clear reasoning and flagging any incorrect assumptions or faulty conclusions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industry experience in circuit or electronics engineering.
• Background in electrical/electronics engineering or related discipline.
• Ability to defend component- and system-level decisions.
• Ability to articulate why an answer is wrong.
• Familiarity with AI tools or willingness to learn quickly.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Eligible for applicants in AU, CA, IE, NZ, UK, or US only.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging, realistic engineering problems from your own practice.
• Run those problems through frontier AI models and judge outputs.
• Compare two model versions on identical prompts and rate performance.
• Critique model-generated derivations, schematics, component selections, and calculations, and write the rationale behind your call.
• Flag concrete failures with evidence: wrong assumptions, sign and unit errors, unphysical results, invalid topologies, fabricated datasheet values, or off-brief interpretation.
