Job summary

Guardian Engineering Enterprises, LLC seeks an Electrical Engineer to join either our Houston, TX, Chicago, IL, or Brooklyn, NY office. The electrical engineer will perform electrical engineering assignments to design equipment, components, structures, or systems — with a growing focus on AI infrastructure, data center solutions, and mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) from an ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification preferred; PE license a plus but not required.
• 2–5 years of electrical engineering experience; field experience a plus.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, AutoCAD Electrical, and Revit MEP.
• Familiarity with data center electrical infrastructure (power distribution, UPS, emergency power).
• Knowledge of AI hardware electrical infrastructure (GPU/TPU clusters, power needs).
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and IEEE codes.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications detailing client performance requirements, design codes, and vendor drawing requirements for electrical power distribution and control systems.
• Design power distribution systems for high-density computing environments (AI infrastructure, data centers) with reliability and scalability.
• Support electrical design for high-performance computing hardware, including redundant and emergency power systems.
• Develop load calculations, short-circuit analyses, and coordination studies for data centers and AI compute clusters.
• Review vendor drawings for compliance and coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors on electrical system requirements.
