As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design and delivery of complex substation and industrial projects that ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of power systems.

This is a hybrid role and can be based out of one of CDM Smith’s offices, offering both flexibility and the chance to work closely with top engineering talent across the firm.

Conduct studies and electrical calculations for power systems, lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm systems, security systems, and similar technical areas.

Develop white papers and technical documentation to support the firm's technical knowledge management (TKM) and conduct site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications. Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.

Attend conferences and symposia to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.

Perform other duties as required.

Mentor junior team members through technical guidance, training, and collaborative work reviews.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.

3 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading industrial electrical engineering teams.

Familiarity with FEL and FEED delivery processes.

Experience with progressive design-build and design-build delivery methods.
