Job title: Electrical Engineer

Duration: 12-month contract

Hybrid (required onsite Wednesdays and Thursdays)

Will be supporting the Compliance Lead and shadowing them for the first few weeks.

Description:

As a key member of the Compliance team, you will support SCE’s mission to deliver safe, reliable, and clean energy.

You will help ensure compliance with evolving standards and build partnerships across engineering, operations, and compliance teams.

In this role, you will:

  1. Support the Compliance Lead in managing projects related to NERC Standards.
  2. Monitor daily reports to identify BES operations.
  3. Collaborate with SMEs to revise Work Control Procedures to maintain compliance.
  4. Conduct data reconciliation activities to validate evidence.
  5. Manage the Offline Transmission Register, including creating requests, leading stakeholder meetings, and uploading ratings to CAISO.
  6. Support the development of quarterly dashboards for Compliance.
  7. Analyze new regulations, perform gap assessments, and communicate impacts.
  8. Contribute to initiatives like Self-Certification, Risk Ranking, and Controls Development.
  9. Coordinate and submit reports for UFLS and GMD events.

Required Skills/Attributes

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a scientific/technical/math field
  • Two or more years of engineering experience in operations, production, construction, or maintenance

Desired Skills/Attributes

  • Experience in electrical engineering, with substation or protection design
  • Understanding of Protection Engineering philosophy
  • Knowledge of NERC standards and compliance programs
  • Familiarity with regulatory codes and utility procedures
