Job description

This position offers an opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in Electrical Engineering within a professional setting that presents a variety of interesting and challenging responsibilities.

The role involves collaborating with other engineers and designers to improve nuclear plant electrical systems and related modifications, including:

  • Electrical systems design
  • Preparation of complex calculations
  • Load flow and short circuit analysis
  • Power flow analysis
  • System impact assessments
  • Cable ampacity calculations
  • Preparation of documented design inputs
  • Preparation of equipment and material specifications
  • Preparation of design reports

Additional opportunities include:

  • Receiving training and mentorship from experienced engineers on meaningful project engineering tasks
  • Involvement in power distribution design and preparation of procurement specifications for major electrical equipment
  • Traveling to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification

Qualifications

Note: We do not sponsor work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

Essential skills and experience:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with strong academic background in power systems analysis
  • 1+ years of experience in electrical systems design in a project team environment, or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with similar academic background
  • Understanding of practical electrical engineering applications and project design principles
  • Knowledge of technical design techniques, tools, and principles for plans, drawings, and models
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills are preferred

Valued but not required:

  • Experience with transient power system analysis software such as ETAP or SKM

Compensation Range: $64,720 - $92,930
