Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft Ltd. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to assist the design, integration, and testing of aircraft electrical systems and wire harnesses for Cirrus aircraft and testbenches.

The role covers power generation, distribution, and analog circuit design. Responsibilities include design, testing, certification, and ongoing support of electrical systems; development of wiring diagrams and harness architecture; 3D models and installation drawings; and component selection.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, industrial or computer engineering.
  • 2-4 years' direct experience in aviation or automotive electrical systems.
  • Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition).
  • Proficient with CREO, Matlab, Eagle, VBA or similar programs.
  • Ability to read/write technical documents and present design reviews.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Design, testing, certification and ongoing support of aircraft electrical systems.
  • Develop and maintain wiring diagrams and harness architecture.
  • Design, drafting and review of electrical assemblies, 3D wiring models and installation drawings.
  • Select electrical components (CCA components, switches, connectors).
  • Support electrical integration with mechanical and avionics systems and EMC analysis.
  • Coordinate design development with subcontractors.
  • Generate certification plans and reports per FAR Part 23.
  • Travel 25%.

Overview
Assist the Electrical Engineering department with the design,integration, and testing of electrical systems and wire harness on Cirrus aircraft and/or testbenches. Systems include power generation and distribution, and analog circuitdesign.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the design, testing, certification, and ongoing engineering support of various aspects of aircraft electrical systems such as power generation and storage, power distribution, wire harness design, etc.
  • Develop and maintain electrical wiring diagrams andharness architecture to meet aircraft system requirements (e.g. functionality,electrical loading, and circuit protection,electromagnetic compatibility, and routing constraints).
  • Design,drafting, and review of electrical equipment assemblies, enclosures, electricalwiring 3D models, part drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawingsfor aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including power distribution, RF,and data busses.
  • Selection of electricalcomponents (CCA components, switches,connectors, etc.).
  • Support mechanical and avionics systems with electrical integration details, including circuit design and analysis and electromagnetic effects/radiated field analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate design development and system integration with subcontractors.
  • Generate certification plans and reports to meet FAR Part 23 requirements.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Travel requirements estimated at 25%
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, industrial or computer engineering; or a combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
  • 2-4 years' of direct experience.
  • Aviation or automotive electrical system and wire harness design.
  • Use of lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and data acquisition equipment
  • Experience using CREO, Matlab, Eagle, VBA, or similar programs
  • Performing trade studies
  • Reading and writing technical documents, such as design specifications, analysis reports, schematics, test plans, and test reports.
  • Presenting design reviews to peers and management
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Handle multiple activities simultaneously and ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
  • Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team
  • Ability to efficiently learn new skills and manage multiple tasks
  • Use of lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
  • Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team
  • Ability to efficiently learn new skills and manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)

Preferred

  • Master's degree.
  • Aviation and Pilot experience
  • Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA, PTC Windchill PDM, and PTC Creo tools , Siemans Capital Logic Designer and Harness Designer , Matlab, Eagle, VBA, and Altium.
