Job summary

Textron Systems' Howe & Howe division seeks an Electrical Engineer to join our team and perform system requirements analysis, architecture design, and integration of electrical systems for high-performance vehicles in fast-paced R&D and production environments.

A broad knowledge across engineering disciplines is valued, with collaboration across mechanical engineers on harness routing and electrical subassemblies. Opportunities for career growth and security clearance are available.

Qualifications

  • Experience with analog and digital circuits.
  • Experience with DC and AC power systems.
  • Operation of multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Effective writing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Hands on mechanical ability/understanding of general vehicle systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Copilot, Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of automotive and military wiring and components such as relays, switches, connectors, etc.
  • Experience with design of electrical subassemblies and harnessing for both automotive and military applications
  • Experience with CAN bus systems (J1939, CANopen, etc.)
  • Experience in a DoD environment
  • Eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Generate electrical system architecture designs to satisfy functional, reliability, and safety requirements
  • Develop low and high voltage electrical power distribution systems based on system requirements
  • 2D schematic capture and 3D modeling/routing of vehicle wire harnesses collaborating closely with mechanical engineers on routing.
  • Provide engineering support for harnessing fabrication both in house and out of house
  • Debugging of electrical assemblies and harnessing
  • Serve as a resource to others within the work group, department, and the organization.
  • Effectively communicate with program managers, planners, and technicians.
  • Drive tasks to completion independently.

Experience Levels
  • Experience levels will be determined by the hiring team. In compliance with local pay transparency laws, the pay range for this position is:
  • Level II Engineer: typically, 1+ year of experience - $80,600.00 - $121,600.00 annually
  • Level II Engineer:Level III Engineer: typically, 4+ years of experience - $101,000.00 - $153,600.00 annually
