Job summary

MTS Systems, an ITW company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Hardware Development team. You will help design and support high-performance motion control hardware from concept through production, ensuring reliability and documentation.

Responsibilities include schematic capture, PCB layout, testing, firmware and FPGA work, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring new products to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, PCB layout, and board bring-up.
• Experience with ECAD tools such as Altium Designer and OrCAD/Allegro.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware product designs through the full development lifecycle.
• Capture schematics, layout PCBs, prototype, test and validate.
• Provide production support and obsolescence management.
• Develop firmware and FPGA designs and related documentation.
• Create internal design documents for peer review.

We're looking for an Electrical Engineer who is a member of the Electrical Hardware Development team at MTS Systems. The team is responsible for developing and supporting a wide range of electrical products focused on high-performance motion control and precision data acquisition.

What You'll Do:

• Own and support new and existing hardware product designs through the entire hardware product development lifecycle
  • Ideation and schematic capture
  • PCB layout and prototyping
  • Testing and validation
  • Production support and obsolescence management
• Develop or support firmware and FPGA designs
• Generate documentation (assembly drawings, BOMs, etc.) required for manufacturing and assembly
• Create internal design documents for review and reference by peers and cross-functional team members

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
• 2+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, PWB/PWA design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and board bring-up
• Experience with ECAD tools, like Altium Designer and OrCAD/Allegro

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Altium Designer
• Experience developing in SystemVerilog
• Experience with FPGA development tools
• Experience with Git or similar version control tools

Compensation Information:

$80,000 - $110,000 Annual Salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
