Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Industrial Projects in San Francisco. In this permanent, full-time role you will design and review electrical power distribution for major industrial facilities and coordinate with mechanical, controls, civil and process-engineering teams.

You will produce diagrams, equipment specs and calculations, support medium- and low-voltage systems, and participate in commissioning and handover to operations. A PE is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering electrical systems for industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE codes and standards.
• Experience with medium-voltage distribution and major equipment.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Experience supporting construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design and review power distribution systems for large industrial facilities.
• Produce and review single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, calculations and construction drawings.
• Support medium- and low-voltage systems including switchgear, transformers, motors, MCCs, generators and UPS.
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, coordination, grounding and arc-flash studies.
• Review consultant and contractor designs for safety, code compliance, constructability and operational reliability.
• Provide technical support during procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders and equipment selections.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve electrical design or installation issues.
• Coordinate with mechanical, controls, civil, structural and process-engineering teams.
• Support energisation planning and turnover of completed systems to operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost, schedule, maintainability and system performance.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.


• Experience designing or delivering electrical systems for industrial, manufacturing, energy, semiconductor, battery, data-centre or mission‑critical facilities.


• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE and applicable electrical codes and standards.


• Experience with medium‑voltage power distribution and major electrical equipment.


• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and engineering calculations.


• Experience supporting projects through construction and commissioning.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.


• Professional Engineer licence is preferred but not essential.


• AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM or EasyPower experience would be beneficial.
