Short Elliott Hendrickson (SEH) in Saint Paul, MN is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Mechanical/Electrical team. As an employee-owned firm, we design power distribution, lighting, low voltage systems and process control with a focus on safety and code compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, a PE license, 5+ years of experience, the ability to lead projects, collaborate across disciplines, and travel occasionally.

Responsabilidades

• Apply electrical engineering to design and optimize power distribution, lighting, low voltage, and process control systems.
• Lead and coordinate tasks within multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects, and project managers.
• Conduct electrical load calculations, short-circuit analyses, and feasibility studies.
• Review plans and specifications to ensure code compliance and client requirements.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to junior staff and act as a lead when required.

Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.Essential Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringLicensed PEOperates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.Directs and coordinates manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and design requirements.Inspects completed installations and observes operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.Develops project budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs.Reviews and analyzes plans, reports, and specifications to ensure the electrical components meet project requirements and adhere to applicable codes and standards.Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to integrate and optimize electrical systems within the overall project design.Conducts electrical load calculations, short-circuit analyses, and feasibility studies, assessing long-term maintenance and performance.Specifies electrical components, materials, and installation methods, and directs modifications to meet engineering criteria and client specifications.Evaluates and troubleshoots existing electrical systems to identify areas for improvement or repair, providing recommendations to clients or maintenance personnel.Preferred Qualifications:5+ years experience1-2 experience with an MEP consulting engineering firm.Ability to travel occasionally for project meetings, client meetings, and site visits.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Willingness to ask questions, seek guidance, and take on increasing responsibility.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Who We AreBetter Places.
