Job summary

Intellian Technologies seeks an Electrical Engineer to implement subsystems for SatCom user terminals. You will develop power supplies, GNSS modules, and network exchange modules under engineering leadership, with a strong emphasis on hands-on lab work.

The role requires four years of experience, CAD/ECAD proficiency, and lab tool familiarity. A collaborative, detail-oriented engineer will support design verification, manufacturing, and documentation throughout development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4+ years of related work experience.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators) and simulation tools (HyperLynx, PSPICE).
• Proficiency in Cadence (Allegro/OrCAD) or other ECAD software.

Responsibilities

• Hardware design: create and review schematics, block diagrams, and BOMs.
• Subsystem development: design and test high-current switching power supplies, GNSS modules, and related architectures.
• Analysis & simulation: run SI/PI simulations to ensure robustness.
• Validation: board bring-up, debugging, and DVT to meet requirements.
• Manufacturing support: assist procurement, suppliers, and CMs on DFM and DFA tasks.
• Documentation: maintain lab notes and document design/test/validation details.
• Automation & AI: use Python for test automation, data analysis, and AI-assisted design.

Job description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will support the implementation of electrical subsystems and modules for SatCom user terminals. Working under the guidance of the Director, Electrical Engineering, senior systems, and electrical engineers, you will assist in developing power supplies, GNSS modules, and network exchange modules. We are looking for an individual with a strong mathematical and engineering foundation and a high motivation to tackle a steep learning curve in a hands-on lab environment.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

• Hardware Design: Create and review hardware design documents, including block diagrams, schematics, and BOMs.
• Subsystem Development: Design, implement, and test high-current switching power supplies, GNSS receiver modules, and electrical architectures utilizing micro-controllers, CPLDs, and FPGAs.
• Analysis & Simulation: Conduct simulations for signal and power integrity (SI/PI) to ensure design robustness.
• Validation: Perform board bring-up, debugging, and Design Verification Testing (DVT) to ensure prototypes meet operational requirements.
• Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with procurement, suppliers, and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to support DFM and DFA tasks.
• Documentation: Maintain rigorous lab notes and document all design, test, and validation details throughout the development cycle.
• Automation & AI Integration: Utilize Python for test automation, data analysis, and scripting to streamline the design and validation process.Leverage AI tools to assist in schematic generation, predictive debugging, and optimizing electrical component selection.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering; or other relevant degree required.
• Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience.
• Tools: Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.) and simulation tools like HyperLynx or PSPICE.
• Proficiency in Cadence (Allegro/OrCAD) or other ECAD software

Technical Core:

• Strong knowledge of microelectronics, electrical power systems, and circuit theories.
• Experience with high-speed multi-gigabit digital system design.
• Proficiency with schematic and PCB layout tools.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• High-Speed Expertise: Demonstrated experience in high-speed Ku/Ka/Q band design.
• Memory Design: Proven experience with DDR memory design (DDR3/DDR4/DDR5), including length matching, impedance control, and topology constraints
• Strong knowledge of various protocols, including Ethernet, SPI, LVDS, RS232, RS422 etc
• Strong knowledge of general power supply components
• Experience in FPGA design and microprocessors is a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas with engineers, vendors, and customers
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in Python for engineering applications and familiarity with AI-assisted design platforms.
