Job summary

Intellian Technologies is seeking an Antenna RF Test Technician to test and characterize antennas, RF modules, and SatCom terminals. You will set up measurement instruments, configure ranges, and conduct tests while organizing data for reports.

The role requires hands-on RF bench work, strong documentation, and collaboration with engineers and vendors. On-site lab work in a satellite communications environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar, or 2–4 years of RF measurement experience.
• Basic knowledge or interest in microwave and antenna principles.
• Hands-on experience with electrical test bench tools (soldering, oscilloscope, power supplies).
• Strong documentation skills with MS Office to organize test plans and reports.

Job description

As an Antenna RF Test Technician, you will be responsible for testing/characterizing various antennas, RF modules, and systems for satellite communications (SatCom) user terminal development. An ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of the principles of RF / microwave networks. The candidate should also have basic hands-on experience of benchtop RF and electrical instruments. This technician shall have strong documentation skills to organize test results and prepare test reports from the lab works.

Basic & Main Responsibilities and Tasks

In this role, you will be responsible for testing and characterizing prototypes and products of antenna and RF modules in SatCom user terminals. The main responsibilities include:

• Setup RF measurement instruments and device under test for test processes.
• Configure antenna ranges and device under test for test processes.
• Conduct rigorous test procedures and organize data for design verification reviews.
• Manage the RF test instruments and other facilities in the RF/antenna lab.
• Communicate with instrument vendors to get required support from field application engineers.
• Interact with design engineers to produce test cases and debug tasks.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline, or 2-4 years of relevant experience with RF measurement equipment
• Basic knowledge or interest in microwave and antenna principles
• Hands-on experience of using electrical test bench tools, including solder irons, oscilloscope, power supplies, etc.
• Strong documentation skills with Microsoft Office to organize test plans and reports.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Have completed RF, microwave, or antenna coursework.
• Hands-on experience of using RF test equipment, including signal generator, spectrum analyzer, vector network analyzer, etc.
• Experience with Python or MATLAB programming languages.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift materials up to 50lbs (e.g., equipment, test fixtures, etc).
• Ability to move within an office, lab, or manufacturing environment as needed.
