Job summary

Transcendia in Richmond, IN is seeking an Electrical Engineer to serve as the subject matter expert in process automation and control technology. You will write PLC code for processes and upgrade hardware for safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct control loop performance analysis, optimization, and documentation.
• Support troubleshooting of instrumentation/control problems and maintain drawings.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance and engineering on new control strategies.
• Prepare routine and special reports for plans, targets, and non-typical events.
• Design new equipment automation including code and hardware components.
• Respond to after-hour emergency repair/support calls as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The subject matter expert in all areas of process automation and control technology and implementation. This role writes new PLC codes for processes as well as modifies existing code for improved safety, reliability or efficiency. This role is heavily involved in process automation technology hardware upgrades.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Gain a "hands on" in-depth understanding of the manufacturing processes
• Monitor daily/weekly/monthly alarm quantities and educe nuisance alarms while improving communication of real process issues
• Respond to immediate plant needs with regard to process updates in relation to process automation software and/or hardware
• Provide technical expertise to maintain and improve process automation/control system performance for all process areas; implement and maintain all functions of the PLC Control Systems
• Control loop performance analysis, loop turning and optimization, control system design, configuration and documentation
• Support the maintenance in troubleshooting and correcting instrumentation and/or control problems; maintain and develop all drawings and documentation related to process changes and improvements
• Work in conjunction with production, maintenance and engineering in the development and implementation of new control strategies
• Routine reporting will be required against plans and targets, as well as special reports for non-typical events
• Concept and design new equipment automation needs including code and hardware components
• Respond to after hour emergency repair/support calls as required
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:
