Job summary

CM Mission Critical Engineering in Raleigh, North Carolina seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and document detailed construction drawings and electrical calculations for mission-critical facilities. You will collaborate with a technical team to ensure high-quality project delivery.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering with 0–7 years of experience; EIT is preferred but not required, and PE licensure is a plus as you contribute to complex projects and professional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
• 0–7 years of electrical engineering design experience.
• EIT certification preferred but not required.
• PE certification or licensure pursuit a plus.
• Experience in mission-critical, industrial, commercial, or similar environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lighting system design including photometric analysis & fixture selection.
• Emergency/standby power system design including generators, UPS systems, & automatic transfer schemes.
• Code analysis including NEC, NFPA, IBC, & local amendments.
• Engineering studies including but not limited to fault current analysis, selective coordination, arc flash, voltage drop calculations, and Neher-McGrath calculations.
• Coordination with mechanical, structural, architectural, & low‑voltage disciplines.
• Review of submittals, RFIs, & construction‑phase documentation.
• Participation in internal QA/QC processes to ensure accuracy & completeness of deliverables.

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Reports to: Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for producing highly detailed construction drawings and specifications, performing complex electrical engineering calculations, & coordinating with internal & external project team members to ensure successful project delivery. This role will be integrated into a highly technical team, demonstrate strong analytical capability, & consistently deliver high‑quality engineering solutions.

• Proven success working with all levels of management & cross‑disciplinary teams
• Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced & occasionally high‑pressure environment

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related engineering field is required
• 0–7 years of electrical engineering design experience
• E.I.T. certification preferred but not required
• PE certification or active pursuit of licensure is a plus
• Experience in mission‑critical, industrial, commercial, or similar environments preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk & working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
