Overview
Gencor Industries, a leading producer of combustion technologies and engineered systems for industrial processing, aggregate drying, and material handling, is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer for its Orlando, Florida office. The role focuses on designing and documenting electrical components and systems for hot mix asphalt plants, primarily using Draftsight.
Location: Orlando, Florida (must reside in Orlando or surrounding area – no relocation).
Responsibilities
- Member of an integrated engineering design team responsible for designing and integrating all manual and automatic controls necessary for asphalt plant operation.
- Schematic design of digital and analog asphalt plant controls.
- Creation of production BOMs.
- Creation of 2D layout and wiring diagrams of control hardware in Draftsight.
- Component selection and testing, such as temperature/limit controllers, HMI panels, and PLC controllers.
- Adherence to quality assurance and safety protocols.
- Provide technical direction to designers and drafters.
- Technical project management of assigned projects.
- Ensure engineering milestones of project schedules are met.
- Collaborate effectively with sales, production control, manufacturing, quality control, and customer service departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical design.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial automation design.
- Experience with PLC programming.
- E‑Plan experience preferred.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation products and software tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Permanent resident of the U.S.
