Job summary

Our Next Energy Inc. (ONE) is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Novi, MI to design and develop electronic circuits and PCBs, and to support layout, testing, and documentation.

You will collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams, participate in design reviews, and help troubleshoot hardware issues using a range of lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Foundational understanding of analog, digital, and power electronics.
• Familiarity with schematic capture and EDA tools.
• Hands-on bench lab experience from coursework, labs, or internships.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PCB layouts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a hands-on engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of electronic circuits and PCBs.
• Support schematic capture and PCB layout activities using EDA tools.
• Perform circuit simulation and analysis to support design decisions.
• Assist in writing and executing electronics test plans including bench testing, functional validation, and characterization.
• Set up and operate lab equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems.
• Support documentation of electrical designs, test results, and design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
• Assist in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the design and development of electronic circuits and PCBs across analog, digital, and power domains
• Support schematic capture and PCB layout activities using EDA tools
• Perform circuit simulation and analysis to support design decisions
• Assist in writing and executing electronics test plans including bench testing, functional validation, and characterization
• Set up and operate lab equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems
