Job summary

Terranova Talent Solutions in New York seeks an engineer with a Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering to assist design and development from concept through construction. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients, preparing construction documents in a 3D environment using AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.

You will review RFIs, attend design meetings, conduct field surveys, and ensure coordination with NYC codes and NFPA/NEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Ability to coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants and clients.
• Field experience with construction principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with NYC Mechanical, Building, Energy Conservation and Fire Protection codes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project design and development from concept through construction.
• Attend and participate in design and construction meetings.
• Prepare construction documents (drawings and specifications), addenda and transmittals.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and other communications; respond to contractors.
• Travel to project sites for data collection, field surveys, and construction observations.

Job description

• Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited University required
• Ability to work effectively with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients
• Productively perform within a team environment on multiple design and construction A/E projects
• Attention to detail and adherence to project schedule and deadlines
• Strong understanding of all A/E disciplines, and project coordination
• Field Experience (understanding of construction principles, methods. and best practices)
• Licensed P.E. preferred along with LEED Certification

Proficiency in:

• AutoCAD MEP 3D, Navisworks, and Revit MEP to prepare construction documents and sketches in 3D environment,
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Available Client references

Position role and Responsibilities:

• Assist with project design and development from concept through construction
• Attend and participate in design and construction meetings
• Prepare construction documents (drawings and specifications), addendum, bulletins, transmittals, etc.
• Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and other communications. Issue response to contractors
• Travel to project sites to conduct and collect data for evaluation, complete field surveys, construction observations, and punch list
• Familiar with International, National, State and Local Codes, Rules, and Regulations, NYC Mechanical, Building, Energy Conservation, and Fire Protection codes as well as NFPA, NEC, etc
• Conduct engineering calculations, load calculations, equipment selection and sizing, etc.
