Electrical Engineer
Job Summary:
Piper Companies is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support a well-established engineering consulting firm specializing in commercial, institutional, and industrial facility design projects. This is a direct hire opportunity in the DMV. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer include:
- Design electrical power, lighting, and distribution systems for a variety of facility projects.
- Perform engineering calculations, load studies, and technical analyses.
- Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout project lifecycles.
- Support construction administration activities, including site visits and design reviews.
- Resolve technical challenges and ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications for the Electrical Engineer include:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- 3-5+ years of electrical engineering or electrical design experience.
- Experience designing power distribution, lighting, and electrical systems.
- PE license is highly preferred but not required.
- Candidates without a PE license may be considered for a Senior Electrical Designer title.
- Strong understanding of NEC and applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Stable work history with demonstrated career progression.
- Ability to travel occasionally (approximately once every 1-2 months).
Compensation for the Electrical Engineer includes:
- Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 (3-5 years of experience)
- Entry-Level Compensation: Starting around $80,000 for new graduates
