Job summary

SiLC Technologies, Inc. is seeking an on-site Electrical Engineer in Monrovia, CA. You will develop and validate high-speed mixed-signal electronics and optoelectronic hardware for a 4D LiDAR system, collaborating with silicon photonics, laser, embedded systems, and mechanical teams.

The role is hands-on with clear growth into precision electronic and optoelectronic hardware expertise, from prototype to production in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with high-speed mixed-signal design.
• Experience with Altium and PCB layout.
• DFT/DFM and pre-compliance testing.

Responsibilities

• Support mixed-signal architecture definition, circuit board design, bring-up, debug, and transition to mass production
• Design high-speed electronics for photonics (TIAs, photodiodes, laser drivers) and perform schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium, with attention to EMI/EMC
• Devise validation strategies and set up hardware testbenches for verifying functionality and performance of optoelectronic systems
• Support product lifecycle including design reviews, qualification testing, and BOM/ECO management
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on optoelectronic and electromechanical system integration and bring‑up

Job description

SiLC is a deep-tech company with an immediate opening for a full-time, on-site (in Monrovia, CA) Electrical Engineer. This person will be part of a dynamic and experienced team focused on building a revolutionary 4D sensing solution powering the next generation of physical AI. Responsibilities include developing, characterizing, and validating electronic and optoelectronic hardware for advanced LiDAR systems, from prototype to production. You will work cross-functionally with our silicon photonics, laser, embedded systems, and mechanical teams to bring these systems to life. This is a hands‑on role with a clear growth path for an engineer who wants to build deep expertise in precision electronic and optoelectronic hardware.

Responsibilities

• Support mixed-signal architecture definition, circuit board design, bring-up, debug, and transition to mass production
• Design high-speed electronics for photonics (TIAs, photodiodes, laser drivers) and perform schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium, with attention to EMI/EMC

• Support product lifecycle including design reviews, qualification testing, and BOM/ECO management

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience designing high-speed (>1 GHz), low‑noise mixed-signal circuit boards including amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, DSP, and external communication
• Proficiency with Altium for PCB schematic capture and layout, as well as circuit simulation tools (e.g., SPICE/LTspice, TINA)
• Hands‑on experience designing testbenches and debugging hardware/software systems using lab instruments (signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, etc.)
• Working knowledge of C/C++ and Python for embedded software/firmware integration
• Experience taking a circuit board design from prototype to production, including DFT/DFM, EMI/EMC, and pre‑compliance testing
• Strong communication and technical writing skills for documenting specs and test results

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with optoelectronic hardware and optical setups (lasers, lenses, fiber components)
• Familiarity with lidar or FMCW radar concepts/technologies
• Experience with Verilog or VHDL for FPGA-based designs
• Startup or fast‑paced product development experience
