CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years in consulting engineering. The role designs electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, UPS, and related low-voltage systems for bid-ready projects.

You will work with a team to deliver energy-efficient building designs for diverse clients, based in our Minneapolis office. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in electrical design, Revit and AutoCAD, and may pursue PE licensure.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of experience in consulting MEP design.
  • FE registration is preferred with potential for PE.
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors in writing and speech.
  • Evaluate and apply engineering techniques to assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate with engineers and staff to meet deadlines.
  • Design and specify system components to meet project goals.
  • Analyze design requirements, cost, and maintenance implications.
  • Review submittals to ensure conformance with contract documents.
  • Contribute to energy-efficient building designs for various clients.

Job description

Position Overview:

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience in consulting engineering. The position is responsible for designing the electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm system, low-voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control), etc. all for the purpose of bidding and construction for various projects. This position will work with a team of engineers to design energy efficient buildings for various clients of CMTA and will be involved in all phases of the project. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who thrives on helping our team and clients be successful while having a strong technical background. This position will be located onsite in our Minneapolis office.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.

  • Interacting with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed with verbal and written communication.

  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.

  • Confer with other engineers and other personnel to complete project deadlines.

  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.

  • Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.

  • Research and analyze clients design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.

  • Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.


Desired Experience and Qualifications:


  • 5+ years experience with MEP design

  • FE registration is preferred with potential for PE

  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD


Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000. This role is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.
