Job summary

MAFÉ Resources is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead electrical infrastructure and renewable energy projects in Florida. Responsibilities include EV charging expansion, solar energy system design, microgrid concepts, and coordination with utilities such as FPL.

The role requires 10+ years in electrical engineering with utility or renewable energy focus. PE license is preferred, and AutoCAD/MATLAB/SCADA skills are beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering with emphasis on utility infrastructure, renewable energy, or power systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing EV charging infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Florida utility standards and procedures, including working with FPL.
  • Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, SCADA, ArcGIS or similar platforms.

  • Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation for standards.
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, and deliverables; mitigate technical risks.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and QA during construction and installation.
  • Analyze electrical performance and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate to develop long-term energy strategies to reduce costs and increase resilience.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and leadership presentations.

Electrical Engineer
Position Summary (Open to Candidates out of state but no relocation package offered)

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of innovative energy infrastructure projects. This role will focus on supporting electric vehicle (EV) charging initiatives, solar energy systems, electrical distribution projects, and long-term energy independence strategies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with utility providers, microgrid design, interconnection agreements, and renewable energy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of electrical infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
  • Support the development and expansion of EV charging networks and associated electrical systems.
  • Design and evaluate solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and microgrid infrastructure.
  • Coordinate closely with utility companies, including Florida Power & Light (FPL), regarding electrical service upgrades, interconnection requirements, and permitting processes.
  • Manage utility applications, interconnection agreements, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Oversee engineering consultants, contractors, and vendors throughout project planning, design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while identifying and mitigating technical risks.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality assurance reviews during construction and installation activities.
  • Analyze electrical system performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop long-term energy strategies that reduce operating costs and increase energy resilience.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, presentations, and engineering recommendations for leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering with an emphasis on utility infrastructure, renewable energy, or power systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing EV charging infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy systems, battery energy storage, and microgrid technologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with utility coordination, particularly interconnection agreements and electrical service applications.
  • Familiarity with Florida utility standards and procedures, including working with FPL, is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing engineering projects from concept through construction.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), electrical safety standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, SCADA, ArcGIS, or similar platforms is a plus.
