Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, electronics, or power electronics.
  • Experience with power supply design or power electronics.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, analog/digital electronics, and electrical systems.
  • Experience reading and developing electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical/electronic assemblies and systems.
  • Experience using standard electrical test and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to analyze technical problems and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support AC/DC and DC/DC power supply units and related electrical assemblies.
  • Develop and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit designs, and engineering drawings.
  • Perform electrical design calculations, component selection, circuit analysis, and power distribution analysis.
  • Design and troubleshoot analog and digital circuits, power electronics, control circuits, and protection circuitry.
  • Support PCB design, layout, component selection, and design reviews.
  • Develop and execute electrical testing, validation, qualification, and verification activities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, electronic loads, and other test equipment.
  • Support prototype builds and transition designs into production manufacturing.
  • Work directly with manufacturing to resolve electrical design, assembly, and production issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product and manufacturing issues.
  • Review and approve engineering changes, bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability initiatives.
  • Participate in failure analysis and reliability improvement activities.
  • Support compliance with applicable aerospace, defense, customer, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering on nonconformances, corrective actions, and product qualification requirements.
  • Provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept through production and field support.
  • Work with suppliers and component manufacturers regarding electrical components, specifications, and technical issues.
  • Participate in customer and internal design reviews as required.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team supporting the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of power supply units and electrical power systems for aerospace and defense applications. This position will work closely with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to develop reliable, high-performance products that meet demanding aerospace and defense requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with power electronics, circuit design, electrical schematics, PCB design, testing, troubleshooting, and product development, preferably within an aerospace, defense, military, or highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support AC/DC and DC/DC power supply units and related electrical assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace & defense industry experience.
  • Experience designing military/aerospace power supplies, converters, inverters, or power distribution systems.
  • Experience with PCB design and circuit layout.
  • Experience with LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar electrical simulation tools.
  • Experience with CAD/electrical design software such as Altium, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, DO-160, or other aerospace/defense electrical requirements.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC testing and mitigation.
  • Experience with environmental, vibration, thermal, and qualification testing.
  • Knowledge of DC/DC converters, switching power supplies, MOSFETs, IGBTs, transformers, inductors, filters, and power management circuitry.
  • Experience with battery systems or battery-powered products.
  • Experience supporting products through NPI and production.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or other aerospace quality systems.
