Strategic Management Solutions, LLC (SMSI) seeks a full-time Electrical Engineer to work onsite at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. Job Summary

Strategic Management Solutions, LLC (SMSI) is seeking a full-timeElectrical Engineerto work onsite at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM. The Electrical Engineer will perform a full range of design engineering responsibilities in support of facility design, operation, and maintenance activities. This role requires applying broad and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and DOE‑complex requirements.

Required Skills/ Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree inElectrical Engineeringfrom anABET‑accreditedinstitution.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
• Proven knowledge of commonly applied codes and standards at DOE and DoD facilities (e.g.,NQA‑1, IBC, NFPA, NEC).
• Prior experience facilitating and developing engineering design packages.
• Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables (e.g., construction documents).
• Experience with computer‑aided design/drafting software or markup tools.
• Design experience in power and familiarity with low power, <480. 208 and 120 are very common.
• US citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q clearance is required.
• Candidate must be able to work onsite in Los Alamos.
• The candidate must have an active Real ID driver's license for badging and onboarding.
• The candidate must be able to work onsite at LANL at least 4 days per week.

Desired Skills

• Active (or recently inactive) DOE Q clearance preferred but not required.
• Design experience in DOD, DOE, nuclear, accelerator or industrial facility operations is a plus.
• Knowledge of DOE, LANL Engineering Standards, and Conduct of Engineering principles and procedures is a plus.
• Controls experience is a plus.

Education

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
