AG Foundry - Recruiting & Staffing is seeking a Controls/Automation Engineer for a growing food manufacturing client. You will own the plant's controls vision, turning manual batching into recipe-driven, HMI-controlled automation.

Responsibilities include designing batch control and recipe systems, programming Allen-Bradley PLCs/HMIs, troubleshooting, and coordinating with maintenance, operations, and contractors to keep production running.

Job description

Our client, a growing food manufacturing company, is looking for a Controls/Automation Engineer to join their team! You'll own the controls and automation vision for the plant, starting with turning manual batching into recipe-driven, HMI-controlled batch automation.

Responsibilities:

• Design and map out batch control and recipe management systems, then partner with integrators and contractors to build and commission them
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
• Serve as the plant's top-level controls troubleshooter when the floor team needs backup
• Weigh in on electrical distribution as the plant expands, including a new utility transformer, switchgear, and panel buildout, with an eye on where the plant is headed next
• Work side by side with maintenance, operations, and outside contractors to keep production running and improving

Qualifications:

• Hands-on batch control or recipe management experience. Food and beverage is a plus, but chemicals, coatings, adhesives, building products, pharma, or any recipe-based manufacturing counts.
• Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC programming experience (Studio 5000, RSLogix, FactoryTalk)
• Working knowledge of industrial power distribution: transformers, switchgear, MCCs, panels
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and a reputation as the person who figures it out
• A collaborative style with contractors, integrators, and floor teams
• An approachable personality and a willingness to share what you know with less experienced teammates.
