Boston Government Services, LLC (BGS) invites qualified candidates for an Electrical Engineer role to support the Advance Energy Business Unit at our Oak Ridge, TN office. This evergreen pool seeks individuals to design and refine DC power supply systems for electrochemical processes while meeting DOE and industry standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, experience with DC power designs, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience designing or supporting DC power supply systems.
• Knowledge of electrochemical systems and related processes (electroplating, metallurgy, electrowinning).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a security/clearance badge.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and support DC power supply systems for electrochemical applications.
• Develop electrical designs, calculations, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Support system integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop process and equipment solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with electrical codes, DOE requirements, and industry standards.
• Support engineering reviews, design modifications, and continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and support DC power supply systems for electrochemical (e-chem) applications.
• Develop electrical designs, calculations, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Support system integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop process and equipment solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes, DOE requirements, and industry standards.
• Support engineering reviews, design modifications, and continuous process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience designing or supporting DC power supply systems.
• Previous experience with electrochemical systems, including electroplating, metallurgy, electrowinning, electrorefining, or similar processes.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, and power distribution.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Successful drug screening.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting nuclear, national laboratories, or other highly regulated environments.
• Familiarity with process equipment used in electrochemical or metallurgical operations.
• Experience with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance, if required.

Location/Work Arrangement

• Schedule is full-time, Monday – Friday 40-hour week.
• This position is Hybrid in Oak Ridge, TN, or Remote.
