Industrial Automation | Manufacturing Operations | Multi-Site Engineering
About the Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer to support electrical systems, industrial automation, and equipment reliability across a multi‑site manufacturing operation. This role will play a key part in troubleshooting production equipment, implementing process improvements, commissioning new machinery, and maximizing manufacturing efficiency and uptime.
The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience with industrial electrical systems, PLCs, and manufacturing automation, along with the ability to work collaboratively with plant maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
Travel Requirement
This position requires approximately 60–70% travel to manufacturing facilities across the United States, including frequent air travel. Candidates located near an existing manufacturing facility are strongly preferred to support timely plant visits. Relocation assistance may be available for a highly qualified candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Systems & Troubleshooting: Design, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial electrical systems, control circuits, power distribution, and production equipment.
- Industrial Automation: Support and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, robotics, and other automated manufacturing technologies.
- Equipment Reliability: Lead root‑cause analysis of electrical and equipment failures, implement corrective actions, and develop strategies to improve uptime and reliability.
- Engineering & Documentation: Develop, interpret, and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and technical documentation.
- Installation & Commissioning: Support the installation, startup, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment, machinery upgrades, and manufacturing process improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze equipment performance and production data to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Plant Support: Partner with maintenance and operations teams to diagnose technical issues, provide hands‑on troubleshooting, and implement sustainable solutions across multiple facilities.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure electrical systems and work practices comply with applicable electrical codes, OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E, and other relevant safety standards.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with mechanical engineering, quality, operations, and maintenance teams to execute manufacturing projects and equipment improvements.
- Parts & Procurement: Support electrical component inventory management, parts selection, and procurement to maintain equipment availability and minimize production disruptions.
